Engraving & Live Events

What is Engraving?

Using a portable hand held drill, I am able to permanently etch calligraphy designs into the surface of your choice.

What kinds of events are ideal for Live Engraving or Calligraphy?

Retail Spaces, Gifting Suites, Brand Activations, Private Events, Corporate Events and more!

What can be engraved on?

Most hard surfaces can be engraved but glass, stone and some metals are ideal.

Common items include :

  • Perfume or Fragrance Bottles

  • Non Carbonated Liquor & Wine

  • Glassware

  • Candle Jars

  • Skincare and Cosmetics

  • Mirror Compacts

  • Stainless Steel Water Bottles

  • Marble or Slate boards

Who provides materials for an event?

The client is responsible for providing the surfaces to be personalized (ie perfume bottles, wine and liquor bottles, card stock etc), however I am able to assist if needed for an additional fee.

What kind of a set up do you need at the event?

All you need to provide is a table and chair and I take care of the rest. (* Please note that some services will require accessibility to a power outlet)

How long does each engraving take?

Typically one item takes me from 3-5 minutes each depending on the complexity of the design

Will engraving be disruptive or loud in a store?

The small portable drill I use is very compact and quiet enough not to be distracting in the middle of a retail space or event. However certain materials like metal tend to be much louder than glass.

How far of a distance are you willing to travel?

For the most part I am willing to travel within a 30 mile radius of my home studio in West Covina. This includes most of LA county and Orange County

How is the travel fee calculated?

The travel fee is calculated using the current standard IRS mileage rate, and is based on travel from my home studio in West Covina,CA

I just need one or two bottles done, can I hire you to have them engraved outside of an event?

Absolutely! Send me an email and we can chat.

What kind of non engraving Live Calligraphy do you offer?

I personally specialize in a style of modern brush pen calligraphy, at this time I do not offer anything using a traditional dip pen and ink. In-store calligraphy usually involves personalization on note cards or card stock however calligraphy can be done on many surfaces. Send me an email to discuss alternative items or surfaces.

How long does each Calligraphy piece take?

Each piece typically takes 2-4 minutes depending on the complexity of the design. Most customers opt for short phrases and messages making it very efficient to create a piece for everyone at a busy event.

Are you able to bring additional artists for larger events?

Yes! I am a firm believer in community over competition, and have a great working relationship with many talented artists in the area. No matter the size of the event, we will be able to ensure that every guest is able to experience the chosen activation.

 

Workshops

Are supplies provided in a Brush Lettering Class?

Yes all supplies are included with the price of the workshop

Do I need any prior calligraphy experience to participate?

No prior calligraphy experience is needed! We will all learn together. However a previous knowledge of cursive is very helpful

How long is each class session?

Sessions range from 90 minutes to 2 hours depending on the class

How many students are typically in a class?

This varies from class to class. Classes in the past have had anywhere between 3 - 20 students.

Do you need to be a certain age to take class?

As long as you have a basic understanding of cursive you are welcome in class at any age

How do I know when your next class is?

Do you offer private or corporate workshops?

Absolutely! Send me an email or fill out my contact form to inquire.

Do you have any virtual class options?

Yes! Send me an email so we can set up a virtual class.

 

Everything else

What is your turnaround time for custom orders?

At least 2 weeks is the recommended turn around time to ensure proper time for sourcing materials and finalizing details for the final product.

Do you do custom invitations?

I do not currently offer custom invitations or custom paper goods

Iā€™m getting married soon, do you do seating charts?

At this time I am currently not accepting seating chart clients.

What kind of custom projects do you do?

Custom signage, chalkboards or small items for events. Basically anything you need for those day of details or party/event favors. For pre-made items or custom ornaments check out my Etsy Shop for more details. At the end of the day I am open to your ideas and can figure out how to write on almost any surface!
